FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy. Container with getter filled with metal powder is sealed and evacuated. Container is subjected to thermal treatment in gaseous hydrogen to allow hydrogen diffusion inside container through its walls to create equilibrium partial pressure on both sides of the wall. Hydrogen interacts with powder oxygen to remove the latter from powder into getter. Then, inert atmosphere or vacuum is created around the container to allow hydrogen diffusion therefrom.
EFFECT: compacted material with controlled content of oxygen, high mechanical properties.
