FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to convert depleted uranium tetrafluoride. Uranium tetrafluoride is brought into contact with ether of formula R2O in counterflow conditions, where R denotes H, CH3, C2H5, C3H7, C4H9 at temperature 450-550°C for 15-20 minutes in molar ratio UF4 / ether between 1-2.64 and 1-25.08.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain uranium oxides which are not contaminated with fluorine.
