FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method of measuring the shape defect on an aircraft structural panel involves the following operations: projection of a target drawing on the location of the defect on the panel, where the said drawing is a set of black and white spots of different sizes lying arbitrarily next to each other; obtaining at least two images of this projected target drawing; processing these two images through stereoscopic correlation to obtain measurement values of the geometry of the defect. The disclosed system which enables implementation of this method includes: a projecting device configured to project the target drawing on the location of the defect on the panel, where the said drawing is a set of black and white spots of different sizes lying arbitrarily next to each other; at least two detachable devices, each of which is configured to obtain the image of the target drawing. The system also includes apparatus for processing these two images of the target drawing.

EFFECT: avoiding deposition of the drawing onto the structural panel of the aircraft.
