FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: operating method of thermal electrochemical generator (TEG) at ionising radiation, which contains anode cavity filled with liquid sodium and connected through channel to refrigerator-condenser, separated with ceramic electrolyte on the basis of sodium β-alumina from cathode cavity filled with liquid-metal alloy, namely on the basis of bismuth, and connected through steam line of sodium vapours to refrigerator-condenser to cathode and to anode cavity there introduced is nuclear fuel, namely uranium-235 or its connections in the form of balls with diametre of 5-25 mm by means of filling method; after that, the above TEG serves as fuel elements, and critical mass of independent reactor-generator is composed of those fuel elements.

EFFECT: improving conversion efficiency and reducing radiation hazard.
