FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: key for a cylindrical lock, in particular, for single systems of locks, besides, in side surfaces of the key there are longitudinal slots provided, location and cross section of which is variable to create variations of locking and, moreover, at least one longitudinal slot is provided, shape of cross section of which complies with the basic triangle, the basic side surfaces of which lie in the flat surface of the key, from which both side surfaces of the slot pass towards the crossing line. Besides, one of the slot side surfaces may also create a bisector of the basic triangle, so that two deep variation slots may be located in the basic triangle, besides, at least one surface variation slot (c, d, cd) is formed due to the fact that one of side surfaces (8, 9) of the slot has length corresponding to half of the length of the other side surface (9, 8) of the slot, which passes from the flat side surface (1) of the key to the crossing line (10).
