FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: industrial noise is used as the source of acoustic oscillations. Acoustic oscillations are measured using sensors fitted transversely to the slope of the body of the dam, its base and assumed tectonic abnormalities, as well as a sensor fitted on the dam near the road. The moment a car passes is recorded. Acoustic signals on all sensors are continuously recorded for a day. Signals from passage of cars on all sensors are picked up. The ratio of intensity of acoustic signals caused by cars on different sensors to intensity of acoustic signals on the extra sensor near the road is found. The obtained ratios are plotted on the profile line of the sensors. Anomalies are determined from the difference between ratios upon passage of cars and ratios without cars and/or average daily. The state of the body of the dam, its base and tectonic abnormalities are determined from the anomalies.
EFFECT: high reliability of evaluating the state of dams.
