SUBSTANCE: device includes steps on which a response from a client machine associated with the user is intercepted in the device deployed in a defined place in the network; a step on which presence of a first advertisement is determined, and further determination of whether the first advertisement is replaceable; a step on which a second advertisement is selected if the first advertisement is replaceable, and a step on which the first advertisement is replaced by the second advertisement such that the second advertisement can be seen when the web-page is displayed on the client machine. If it is determined that the web-page has a replaceable advertisement, the preferred advertisement, which is of more interest to the user, is embedded in the data packets so as to replace the initial advertisement. As a result, the preferred advertisement serves after display of content of the web-page.
