FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaning of dielectric fluids of mechanical impurities. Proposed electric cleaner comprises casing 1 and precipitation electrodes 4 made up of metal plates with holes forming fluid or gas passages, while precipitation electrodes are connected to HV sources with alternating potential sign. Precipitation holes are provided with inserts 5 from dielectric material, i.e. polypropylene, pressed in said holes. Note that central part of said inserts provided with passages for media to be cleaned. Insert hole wall thickness equals 3-5 mm to prevent deposition of mechanical particles on wall surfaces under action of electrostatic field and allow said inserts to extend beyond the plane of precipitation electrode on both sides by electrode gap equal to 3-5 mm depending upon voltage fed to electrodes. Radial fluid or gas passages are arranged in insert face parts. In assembly of adjacent electrodes, they are arranged so that extending aforesaid parts of one electrode are located between extending of another electrode in electrode gap on said electrodes.

EFFECT: eliminating deposition of mechanical impurities on hole surfaces.
