FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaners of dielectric fluids and gases to be used for cleaning of dielectric media. Proposed electric cleaner comprises precipitation electrodes composed of metal plates with slots to make fluid passages and furnished with webs of dielectric material while precipitation electrodes are connected to high-voltage source with alternating potential sign. Said webs of dielectric material between electrodes feature different thickness. Maximum thickness webs are arranged between first and second electrodes if seen from cleaner inlet. Smaller thickness webs are arranged between second and third electrodes, webs of even smaller thickness are arranged between third and fourth electrodes, etc. Webs of minimum thickness are arranged between the last and next to last electrodes to allow for different electrode gaps decreasing from cleaner inlet to outlet. Note here that decreasing of electrode gap and web thickness varies with concentration of impurities in direction from the first electrode gap to the last one.

EFFECT: uniform precipitation of impurities at all electrodes.
