FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pulmonary surgery. Substance of the method consists in performing two-step thoracoplasty. The first step involves measuring a length of a resected portion of clavicle; the clavicle is resected along a midclavicular line and fixed tightly with a metal plate, while the second step consists in superoposterior thoracoplasty by resecting 6 ribs in lung destruction, and 10 ribs in bronchial fistula and pleural empyema; the length of the resected portion of the clavicle is calculated by formula: L₂=T₂×L₁:T₁, where L₂ is the length of the resected portion of the clavicle, T₂ is the inclination of a clavicular joint to a breast bone, L₁ is 1 cm, T₁ is 20°.

EFFECT: use of said invention allows providing complete collapse up to mediastinal organs of superior, medium and an apex of inferior lobes of lung, enabling higher effectiveness of closure of advanced destructive changes, as well as promotes healing of bronchial fistula and pleural empyema.
