FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hot bending. Article to be moulded is positioned by support element so that, at least, section of rim of moulded material bottom surface stays in tight contact with shaping surface. Moulded material is arranged on mould shaping surface and heated to temperature that allows deformation. Support element represents a ring-like element with inner surface provided with extending part. The latter stays in contact only with the section of material lateral surface top edge to support moulded material. Support element stays in contact with, at least, three points on material lateral surface top edge. Central section of material lateral surface stays distant from shaping surface.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of moulding, ruling out undesirable displacement of moulded material during softening.
