FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: laser contains an active medium with an excitation system, lying between cylindrical and flat mirrors of an optical resonator. The resonator is V-shaped and has separate reflecting diffraction grating and flat exit mirror at its ends. The device for spectral selection of radiation spectrum lines is merged with the excitation system, having one flat metal high-frequency electrode and a parallel flat dielectric plate having the same shape and dimensions. Conducting metal electrodes are placed on the dielectric plate, each connected to the corresponding output of a switch, the input of which is connected to the output of a generator of exciting electromagnetic energy. The laser also includes an information signal source, a generator of noise oscillations and a program-control unit. Outputs of the included units are connected to corresponding inputs of the switch. The generator of exciting electromagnetic energy is configured to simultaneously transmit electromagnetic exciting oscillations to all N (1,2,…i,…N) conducting strip metal high-frequency electrodes, the information signal to one, i-th strip electrode, noise oscillations to the remaining (N-1) strip electrodes except the i-th electrode, as well as select and replace the i-th electrode during operation of the laser as the information electrode among all N electrodes abruptly based on the signal from the program-control unit.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities owing to secret transmission of information.
