SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of silicates and a method of producing glass for use in making art articles, lamp shades, table tops and large-sized figures. The method of producing glass involves preparing a mixture, boiling the transparent glass mass, swirling, clarification, chilling, adding gas-forming agent particles with size of up to 1 mm into the glass mass, making the articles and annealing. The gas-forming agent used is pre-saturated with 1-5% cobalt nitrate solution and schungite dried to moisture of not more than 0.1-2%, which is added to the glass mass during chilling in amount of 0.1-3% of its volume.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain glass with bubbles, which is coloured in sections.
