SUBSTANCE: propose positioning device may be operated in two modes: first, using data mainly from absolute positioning system, and second, using data, mainly from relative positioning system. Primary data source is selected proceeding from predetermined position and quality of absolute positioning system signal, as well as data stored in digital card data base. Note here that said data comprises data on threshold distances for various geographical objects and that, on approaching said objects with their threshold distances known, operating mode changes into that using mainly the data received from relative positioning system before quality of absolute positioning system signal drops drastically.

EFFECT: higher range-finding data accuracy.
