FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves catalytic hydration of cyclooctene in a medium of CCl4 in the presence of Cr(acac)3 and CuCl2 at temperature 150°C for 6-12 hours in molar ratio [Cr(acac)3] : [CuCl2] : [C8H14] : [H2O] : [CCl4]=1:1:100:(2000-2500):100.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain and end product with high output while using available and cheap raw material.
