EVALUATION METHOD OF TECHNICAL STATE OF FRICTION ASSEMBLIES OF GAS TURBINE ENGINE, WHICH OPERATE IN PRESENCE OF LUBRICATING OIL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC G01M15/14

Abstract RU 2420721 C1

FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: evaluation method of technical state of friction assemblies of gas turbine engine, which operate in presence of lubricating oil, consists in sampling of lubricating oil samples during operation of engine. Concentrations of metal particles deposited during wear process and from which parts lubricated with oil are made are determined in samples by means of spectrum analysis. In addition, concentrations of particles of alloying elements of steels of rolling bearings, copper and other alloys, protective coatings of parts subject to wear, which have been deposited during wear, are determined in samples. Also, concentrations of elements included in abrasion coatings of gas/air path of engine and sealing materials separating air and oil cavities, the particles of which can penetrate into oil, are controlled. Elements included in composition of impurities of lubricating oil, which can penetrate together with dust from flow part of engine, are controlled. Then, parametres of wear particles of all controlled metals are determined, compared to average statistical values of parametres of wear particles of normally operating standard engine and the decision on possibility of continued engine operation is taken. When rated content of elements included in composition of coatings of gas/air path of engine in oil is exceeded, visual optic inspection of sealing elements of compressor is performed. When rated concentration of elements of coatings of sealing materials separating air and oil cavities is exceeded, pressure and temperature of oil pumped from bearing supports fixed with onboard parametres control systems of aircraft and gas turbine plant is controlled. When rated concentration of elements included in composition of impurities of lubricating oil is exceeded, rated purity class of oil is controlled and decision on necessity of its replacement is taken.

EFFECT: evaluation method enlarges diagnostics capabilities of technical state of gas turbine engine.
