FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: user equipment reports changes in data rate for uplink traffic to an evolved base station node using layer 1, 2 or 3 signalling. Having received the report, the base station node dynamically allocates physical resources by adding or removing radio blocks currently assigned to the data flow, and signals the new resource assignment to the user equipment. In an alternative embodiment, tables stored at the base station node and equipment describe mappings of data rates to physical resources under certain channel conditions, and user version uses the table to locally assign physical resources according to changes in data rates on the communication line.
EFFECT: supporting RTS applications with variable data rates.
