FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates o identification of material resources and may be used for marking electrically conducting parts, e.g. rolled stock, machinery parts, etc. Proposed method comprise producing identification number, data grid and non-reproducible pattern on electrically conducting part by electric discharge and entering non-reproducible pattern into data base for mark identification. For this, electrode made from nano-composites of ultra-dispersed metal powders is used. Law of random numbers is used to select, at least, one spot from all electric-discharge spots. Its coordinates on data grid are entered into data base. Spectral characteristic of selected spot is determined, entered into data base and identification is performed. Identification is performed in two stage. Note here that fist stage comprises comparing non-reproducible patter on mark with that from data base. Second stage comprises comparing spectral characteristic of spot randomly selected on data grid with relevant spectral characteristic from data base.
EFFECT: electric discharge spots with non-reproducible spectrum patterns, higher accuracy of identification.
