FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: there is determined relative humidity of feed stock. For this purpose an experimental portion of feed stock of Mo weight is first dried to a dry residue of So weight. Further, there is determined weight of removed moisture Go from the experimental portion of feed stock by formula: Go=Mo-So, where Go is weight of removed moisture from the experimental portion of feed stock, Mo is weight of experimental portion of feed stock; So is weight of dry residue of the experimental portion of feed stock. Relative humidity of feed stock is determined by formula: Vn=Go/Mo, where Vn is relative humidity of feed stock. A tray for feed stock is placed on a balance installed in a drying box or in a chamber of evaporator. A portion of feed stock is placed into the tray for drying to a required value of relative humidity, is weighed and dried. During drying decreasing weight of the feed stock portion is being measured. Process of drying is terminated at such weight of the feed stock portion, when final relative humidity corresponds to a required value. Finish weight of the feed stock portion is determined by formula: Mk=S/(S/Mn+Vn-Vk), where Mk is weight of the portion of dried feed stock to a required value of residual humidity, S is weight of dry residue of the portion of dried feed stock determined by formula: S=So-Mn/Mo, where: Mn is weight of the portion of feed stock subjected to drying; Vn is relative humidity of feed stock; Vk is required value of residual relative humidity of feed stock after drying.

EFFECT: determination of required value of final relative humidity of materials in process of drying; facilitation of qualitative drying eliminating finish drying.
