FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to low-temperature processing and separation, namely, to devices intended for separating dispersed particles from gases or vapors using centrifugal forces. Proposed vortex tube comprises body, inlet branch pipe, cold and hot outlet branch pipes, fluid drain branch pipe and power divider. Inlet branch pipe is provided with methanol feed device. Swirler is arranged in body nearby inlet branch pipe. Body houses aforesaid divider and diaphragm with inner taper surface to form circular channel. Divider streamlined face surface has grooves, their number varying from 2 to 0.2D, where D is power divider diameter, mm; groove depth makes 0.05D-0.1D, groove width makes c=0.05D-0.2D, groove curvature radius makes r=3D-3.5D, groove deflection angle makes a=30-75°. Divider, spring-loaded to diaphragm, is arranged to displace along body axis. Body inner part and divider outer part make fluid chamber. Swirler is arranged on body end, opposite said power divider, and features cross-like shape. It is arranged at, at least, 5 and not over 12 diameters D of power divider from body end face. Swirler face sides are provided with ledges on each face. Height of each ledge is selected from 1H-1.5H range, where H is swirler material thickness.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of separation.
