SUBSTANCE: invention refers to an antiviral agent based on 4-{3,5-dioxo-4-azatetracyclo [5.3.2.02,6.08,10]dodec-11-ene-4-yl}-4-azatetracyclo[5.32.0.2,6.08,10]dodec-11-ene-3,5-dione of formula I which shows an antiviral activity in relation to various types of orthopoxviruses with the lowered toxicity for animals and can find application in medicine and veterinary science for treating a wide spectrum of orthopoxviral infections.
EFFECT: production of the new effective agent characterised by a high selectivity index and antiviral action concerning various types of orthopoxviruses, pathogenic for humans and animals.
