FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: method to restore a debris trap installed in an exhaust channel of an internal combustion engine, besides, a flow of exhaust gases to be cleaned is supplied to the debris trap, at the same time, in the recovery mode, from the flow of exhaust gases upstream a turbine (19) that operates on exhaust gases and a turbosupercharger (20) that operates on exhaust gases, a specified amount of the exhaust gases flow (16) to be heated, which after heating with the help of a heating device (8) in the form of a hot flow (16') of exhaust gases is mixed with a residual flow (15') outgoing from the turbine (19) and having lower temperature upstream at least one debris trap (3). Also there is a device to recover a debris trap installed in an exhaust channel of an internal combustion engine to realise the method.

EFFECT: increased reliability and safety of debris trap recovery.
