FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the device, the source of desorbing ions (DI) is a system consisting of a liquid ion source which generates multi-charged polyatomic ions, a magnetic separator for extracting the required component from a spectrum of ions generated and a focusing and acceleration system for creating a beam of DI, which bombard a nano-dispersed target. The nano-cluster ions (NCI) desorbed from the surface of the target are accelerated towards the irradiated object. The time-of-flight dimensional selection of the NCI is carried out using a high-voltage filter at the output of the NCI acceleration stage, which works synchronously with a DI beam shutter at the input of the DI acceleration stage.
EFFECT: obtaining intense beams of accelerated dimension-selective NCI in a wide range of sizes with low consumption of substance on a laboratory installation without using radioactive isotopes.
