METHOD OF TREATING PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC CARDIAC FAILURE OF ISCHEMIC GENESIS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61N7/00

Abstract RU 2424015 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine namely to cardiology, and can be used for treating the patients with chronic cardiac failure of ischemic genesis. That is ensured by shock-wave therapy exposure on a myocardium. It is preceded with zone selection in segments with a viable myocardium according to dobutamine stress-echocardiography values. A segment viability is determined by gaining small dose dobutamine (10 mcg/kg*min) contractility in segments with rest contractility disorders. The shock-wave therapy is performed for 9 sessions - 3 sessions during the first week every second day, 3 sessions during the fifth week every second day and 3 sessions during the ninth week every second day. During the first week, the exposure is performed at a level of basal segments, during the fifth week - at a level of middle segments and during the ninth week - at a level of upper segments in viable segments. The zone is eliminated with using a conventional echocardiographic apparatus. Each zone sized 1cm in the viable segments is exposed to 100 pulses at a level of power 0.09 mJ/mm2 in an electrocardiogram synchronisation mode.

EFFECT: method allows higher clinical effectiveness ensured by precise local shock-wave exposure on the detected ischemic and hybernation zones that provides stimulation of angiogenesis, improved myocardial function of a left ventricle.
