FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: level gauge has one metallic measuring tube and one transducer. In the top part of the metallic measuring tube there is steam inlet tube connected to the steam drum, and at the bottom part of the metallic measuring tube there is a water inlet tube connected to the steam drum. Inside the metallic measuring tube there is an insulating tube, inside of which from bottom-up there are probes No.1, No.2 and No.3, which are spaced apart and electrically unconnected. Said probes are accordingly connected to the transducer by conductors. Said level gauge can track dielectric permittivity of water and steam in real time, which enables it to continuously take accurate measurements of the level of the liquid in the steam drum under any conditions, even when the boiler is on, off or blown out, etc.
EFFECT: possibility of calculating the level of a liquid from readings of dielectric permittivity of water and steam which is tracked in real time.
