FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: without preliminary sample preparation, a sample of the analysed liquid dispersion medium is transferred into a cuvette made from quartz glass with a transparent bottom, which is then put into the cuvette holder of the device for determining turbidity, which is placed on the glass of a flatbed scanner and covered by the cover of the scanner with a built-in transparent adapter and a connected personal computer with Windows operating system, Mathcad software and standard scanner drivers. In the cover of the housing of the device for determining turbidity, there is a through hole over a mirror such that, light passing through the hole is reflected from the mirror and passes through the cuvette.
EFFECT: rapidness, affordability and versatility of the method for quantitative determination of turbidity of liquid dispersion systems, based on digital imaging technology using scanning equipment which is compatible with a personal computer.
