FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing a biodegradable copolymer based on polylactide is a process for copolymerisation of lactide and lactone of general formula , where n ranges from 0 to 3, while heating in the presence of a tin (IV) chloride catalyst. The weight ratio lactide: lactone: catalyst ranges from 99:1:0.03 to 85:15:0.4.
EFFECT: obtaining a biodegradable copolymer based on polylactide which, when heated at atmospheric pressure, retains number-average molecular weight less than 60000.
