FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: amphiphilic block copolymer contains a hydrophobic polymer block from poly(α-hydroxy acid). Content of lactone monomers of α-hydroxy acid in said block is equal to 1.0 wt % or less based on the total weight of the copolymer and a content of organometal catalyst is equal to 50 ppm or less based on the total weight of the copolymer. The method of producing an amphiphilic block copolymer involves dissolving an amphiphilic block copolymer in a water-miscible organic solvent; mixing the obtained polymer solution with water or an aqueous solution containing an alkali metal salt; separating the obtained solution into an organic solvent layer and an aqueous layer via salting out; collecting the organic solvent layer and removing the solvent therefrom and separing the polymer.
EFFECT: obtaining a polymer of high purity, reduced toxicity and reduced secondary reactions caused by secondary products, wider medical and industrial field of use of the amphiphilic block copolymer.
