FIELD: biodegradable polymers production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing biodegradable polymers based on polylactide or polycaprolactone by polymerization of lactide or caprolactone in the presence of a catalyst with heating, which includes conducting the process using titanium salicylate as a catalyst, the mass ratio of catalyst: monomer being from 1:50 to 1:200. A commonly available catalyst is used that is easy to synthesize, stable in air and non-toxic.

EFFECT: simplification of the method for obtaining polylactide and polycaprolactone, leading to the production of a polymer with a high molecular weight and low polydispersity indices.
