FIELD: printing industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to printing method on surfaces of flat wood elements. Printing method on surface of flat wood panels (10) of multicoloured image involves preliminary preparation stage of graphic composition by means of processor and corresponding software and printing stage of multicoloured image on panels (10) by means of single-pass ink-jet printer (12) having printing heads (12.1-12.4) with nozzles ejecting microdrops of the required colour on the surface subject to printing; at that, processor controls the printer, and panels (10) move relative to printer (12) during printing. The above method differs by the fact that printing heads (12.1-12.4) are fixed; at that, for each colour in printer (12) the number of used printing heads (12.1-12.4) is enough to cover the whole width of panel (10) surface subject to printing; at that, treatment stage of panel surface subject to printing with sealing compounds is performed before printing stage; at that, additional stage follows the printing stage and it consists in application of covering materials on printing surface of panel (10) in order to form almost transparent protective layer.
EFFECT: higher printing efficiency on surfaces of flat wood elements.
