FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention is used mainly at fabrication of wear resistant elements of vibrations friction damper (VFD) of carriages of freight cars. Vertical working planes of friction of VFD are subjected to induction heating with currents of high frequency at depth over 3 mm at specific power of electromagnetic effect 8-10 kWt/cm2 and to successive cooling with a water shower. Induction heating is performed at working frequency of high frequency generator 66 kHz. For implementation of the procedure there is used the inductor containing a hollow current distributor with supply of a cooling agent made in form of a loop of copper wire, a copper bar and concentrators of high frequency power in form of ferrite split rings. Also, the bar and ferrite rings are arranged on a tube of the inductor along length of its working zone creating specific power of electromagnetic effect 8-10 kWt/cm2 in the working zone of the inductor. Length of the copper bar corresponds to length of the working zone of the inductor; the inductor is connected with the high frequency generator of working frequency 66 kHz.
EFFECT: increased resource of element operation.
