FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: thyroxine undergoes electrochemical concentration on the surface of a mercury film electrode for 150 s at electrolysis potential 1.8 on a borate buffer background with pH=10. Anodic voltage versus current curves are then plotted with constant-current rate of scanning potential of 50 mV/s. Concentration of thyroxine is determined from the height of wave at potential value - 0.18 V relative a silver chloride electrode.
EFFECT: use of the method increases accuracy of determining thyroxine in a medicinal agent and increases rapidness of determination during quality control.
