FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: two-roll casting machine consists of cooled casting rolls mounted on holders. One roll is stationary fixed, while another moves in a side direction and is set off to the other roll by means a drive unit actuating the movable holders of the roll. Cooled cast rolls are set with a gap between them and are packed on ends of the gap. Liquid metal is supplied between the said pair of casting rolls to create a casting bath. Rolls are rotated creating crusts of metal crystallised on the casting rolls and forming crusts approaching each other in the gap. Shifting forces are applied to at least one roll to the extent, that force of casting rolls separation on them is controlled to a value between 2 and 4.5 H/mm.
EFFECT: efficient control over quality of cast strip.
