FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to continuous casting of composite strips in two-roll casting machine. Proposed device comprises two casting rolls running in opposite direction and spaced apart to make a clearance there between for thin metal strip to be cast there through. Actuator drives said rolls to and from initial position. Position transducers measure roll position relative to preset initial position to transmit electric signals to control system that drives actuator to displace casting rolls. Force transducers may be used to measure forces applied to said strip and to generate electric signals indicating applied forces. Control system receives said force-indicating electric signals to activate the actuators for changing the casting rolls position in response to said signals.
EFFECT: adequate roll force control.
