FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: thin cast strip 12 is fabricated in two-roll casting machine on feeding melted steel between rolls 22 to form casting bath. Said casting bath is constricted by two side limiters 35 arranged nearby faces of rolls 22. Melted steel is fed between rolls by metal feed system 24 that comprises dispenser 26 and main nozzles 27. Dispenser 26, main nozzles 27 and side limiters 35 are replaced in one casting operation. First, replaceable fire-resistant components are pre-heated in remote place. Said fire-resistant components are transferred from said remote plate to working position by transportation device or devices (49, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56). Worn-out fire-resistant component is removed and pre-heated replaceable component is fitted in working position. Replacement is made in less than 5 or 2 minutes.
EFFECT: longer casting, reduced consumption of fire-resistant components and operating costs.
