FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: rivet has central flange with periphery external surface of first hardness. Dimensions of the flange facilitate its entering a rivet orifice of the first link of the saw chain. The first hardness of periphery external surface of the flange is chosen to ensure its resistance to wear. A core of the rivet passes from side surface of the central flange and has hardness facilitating formation of the rivet. A section of a rivet collar is formed by connection of the central flange and the core; also, the section of the collar has the second hardness lower, than the first hardness, but higher, than hardness of the core. It is selected to withstand shearing forces. Here is disclosed sequence of operations in accordance with versions of fabrication of the saw chain rivet.
EFFECT: optimal fabrication of rivet stable to shear.
