FIELD: processing and preserving of wood and similar materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to woodworking industry, in particular to a cutter tooth for a saw chain. Cutter tooth for a saw chain consists of a main body and hardmetal cutting element secured thereon. Hardmetal cutting element has an upper cutting edge as well as a lateral section with a lateral cutting edge. Chip recess for discharging chips is formed in the main body. Cutting element projects into the chip recess. In a side view of the base member, a forward contour of the lateral section and an inner contour of the chip recess define a corner point. Corner point is positioned at a first spacing relative to the depth limiter delimiting the chip recess, wherein the first spacing is smaller than the second spacing from the center plane to the edge of the depth limiter. Edge of the depth limiter is positioned in front of the center axis of the forward rivet opening relative to the running direction.
EFFECT: cutting performance and the service life of the cutter tooth are increased.
