FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method involves introduction to the molten metal overheated to 850-895°C of modifying additive. Cobalt included in Al-Co alloy combination is used as the above modifying additive and added to the molten metal. After alloy combination is diluted, melt temperature is decreased to 750°C. In particular cases of the invention's implementation the cobalt content in Al-Co alloy combination is 3.0%.

EFFECT: obtaining aluminium-silicon alloys in which high grinding effect of separations of eutectic silicon is achieved, increasing density of alloys and achieving mechanical properties of cast items, which are stable in time.
