FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machining of materials and can be used for measurement of temperature state of cutting process during turning by method of natural formed thermocouple. Proposed billet is isolated by means of metal cups with split metal bushings, split ebonite bushings and ebonite gaskets to be installed on trunnions made on both ends of processed billet. Billet with metal cups at one end is fixed in lathe chuck, and at the other end is clamped by rotating centre. Soldering to it electric wire, which is connected to metal rod, contacting current collector, made in form of post with guide bushing, fixed mounting screws with retainer and containing ebonite guide, spring and metal stop, to which electric wire is soldered. Cutter is isolated from the cutter holder by means of dielectric gaskets and a protective metal gasket. Electric wire is soldered to the cutter from tool material. Free ends of said electric wires and electric wires are connected to millivoltmeter to record readings of thermoelectric power.
EFFECT: higher measurement accuracy.
