SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modified resins applied particularly for selective separation of solid substances and/or ion compounds, such as metal cations, from water medium. The method of ore dressing includes provision of ore that contains valuable material; and one or more admixtures, contact of ore water suspension with amino aldehyde resin, containing a substance to increase adhesion on the basis of silane, and during or after the contact stage, separation of the valuable material from suspension. The method of coal ore dressing includes provision of coal ore that contains coal and one or more soluble or insoluble admixtures, contact of coal ore water suspension with amino aldehyde resin, containing a substance to increase adhesion on the basis of silane, and during or after the stage of sizing by size or density, separation of the cleaned coal from water suspension.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of material separation.
