FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: compressed air cylinder is connected to the engine via an air manifold, and the engine is rotated without fuel supply. The engine is rotated with compressed air from the cylinder of the air start-up system, pressure is measured in the air start-up system cylinder before the start and after the end of rotation. The air flow from the balloon is determined with account of air pressure difference in the cylinder prior to rotating and after rotating and with account of cylinder volume. The difference is determined between air flow from the cylinder and the rated amount of air for the engine with the available volume of the cylinder, at the same time the produced difference represents a leakage value.

EFFECT: reduced labour intensiveness of engine diagnostics.
