FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with a branched outlet system and an exhaust gas recirculation system. Method for engine consists in that, in response to engine killing request (10), inlet throttle (62) is closed and first valve is opened, located in auxiliary flow channel installed between inlet manifold (44), downstream of intake throttle (62), and first outlet manifold (84). First exhaust manifold (84) is connected to first group of outlet valves (8) to direct unburned hydrocarbons to catalytic neutraliser (72) located in outlet channel (74) connected to second group of outlet valves (6). Versions of the method for the engine and system for the engine are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of temperature of combustion chambers and reduction of possibility of detonation.
