FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with exhaust gas recirculation systems (EGR). Method of operating engine (10) consists in that high-pressure blowing air is directed from plurality of inlet valves (2), (4) to second outlet header (80) connected to intake channel (28) through second group of outlet valves (6). Closing value of opening phases of multiple inlet valves (2), (4) and second group of outlet valves (6) in accordance with determined for each cylinder transition of air-fuel ratio from estimated air-fuel ratio corresponding to content of combustion products, to poorer air-fuel ratio corresponding to purging air content. Disclosed are engine operating method embodiments.
EFFECT: technical result consists in provision of flow of EGR flow and/or blowing air of required value into intake channel of engine.
