FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to locomotive driving. Method in which brake system of railway train includes brake main line with fluid medium, which contains outlet hole and attaching driving locomotive and remote locomotive; at that, the train also includes communication system for implementation of communication between driving locomotive and remote locomotive. State of functioning of the train brake system is determined; state of operability of communication system is determined; application level of brake, which is specified on the operator's command, is identified in driving locomotive at state of non-operability of communication system, and signalling brake application level sufficient for signalling to remote locomotive through brake main line is determined depending at least on one of: state of functioning of brake system, state of operability of communication system and brake application level specified on the operator's command. System includes: the first transmitter for determining the state of functioning of the train brake system, the second transmitter for determining the state of communication system operability, the third transmitter for identification of brake application level specified on the operator's command in driving locomotive at non-operability state of communication system, and controller.

EFFECT: higher safety of train movement is achieved.
