FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to glass spheres used as proppants for propping oil and gas wells. The technical result of the invention is increase in strength of proppants and permeability of at high pressure in deep wells. A molten glass mass is obtained. The glass for producing proppant has the following composition, wt %: SiO2 - 45-57; MgO - 26-36; Al2O3 - 3-6; (FeO+Fe2O3) - 5-11; CaO - 3-8; other components - less than 5. The molten glass mass is dispersed by a jet of water at pressure 200-1000 atm. The ratio of water consumption to molten glass consumption ranges from 0.8 to 4.0.
EFFECT: glass crystal spheres are formed as a result of dispersion by the jet of water.
