FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to making of submarine strong hull. Cylindrical shell of submarine hull is formed of glass layer lined with metal coating composed of outer, inner and end facings with thermal expansion factor exceeding that of glass. Outer metal coating is produced in split mould with end facings fitted therein. Said mould is heated to temperature required for high-quality forming of said metal coating and placed in centrifuge. Metal melt is fed on to mould inner walls and centrifuge is used to form outer metal facing of required thickness. Then molten glass melts is fed on to inner surface of said metal facing to form glass layer of required thickness by centrifuge. Then glass layer temperature is decreased to the level necessary for its diffusion welding with metal facing to feed metal melt on to said glass layer to form inner metal facing of the shell by centrifuge. Cylindrical shell temperature is decreased to glass layer vitrification temperature to switch off the centrifuge. Cylindrical shell is annealed to complete relaxation of stress and glass layer stabilisation. Now cylindrical shell in split mould is cooled to ambient temperature to withdraw the shell from the mould.
EFFECT: reliable joint between outer metal coating with glass layer, simplified process.
