FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: air is discharged to combustion chamber after upper dead point is achieved in order to support combustion until all fuel is spent. There proposed are engines with high performance characteristics and low emissions, multi-cylinder engines and methods of their operation, which are based on ignition from compression of dose of fuel-air mixture in combustion chamber, which already contains at least some amount of fuel and air. Various operating modes are proposed.
EFFECT: reducing toxicity level of waste gases of engine.
