FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: two-stroke engine with opposite pistons and compression engine comprises device intended for injecting main charge of liquid fuel into central bore of the cylinder between opposite pistons at the compression stroke start for fuel to get vaporised and mixed with air during rest of the compression stroke till stoichiometric components of the fuel correspond to self-ignition conditions. There is additional device for next injection of pilot injection of liquid fuel into compressed air-fuel mix in compression stroke. Said pilot charge provides said stoichiometric component which self-ignites to initiate ignition of air-fuel mix.
EFFECT: high efficiency of engine operation in wide range of loads.
