FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: process cartridge, meant for input into a main unit in the longitudinal direction of the cartridge and for tightening in a direction which crosses the longitudinal direction in order to position the cartridge, wherein the cartridge includes the connecting element of a shaft placed at one axial end of a developing roller for transmitting a driving force from the main unit, having an engagement part. The distance between the axis of the engagement part and the axis of the developing roller is shorter when the cartridge is positioned in the positioning area of the main unit than when the engagement part is positioned by a holding part.
EFFECT: simple mechanism removing the driving force transmitting element in the main unit, designed to transmit rotary driving force to the developing roller, avoiding the need for a large guide which is needed for interlocking of the engagement part and the driving force transmitting element of the main unit, smaller size of the developing device, process cartridge and electrophotographic image forming device, and improved image quality owing to higher accuracy of turning the developing roller.
