SUBSTANCE: accessibility data are provided in real time for potential participants of a meeting and/or resources. Accessibility data of one or more participants and/or resources of a meeting are requested from the accessibility service. The accessibility service determines the identity of the email server on which current calendar data are stored in real time for desirable participants and/or resources. The requested data are extracted by the accessibility service from one or more email servers, having data for each participant and/or resource. Potential participants can set authorisation for their corresponding accessibility data in order to limit the amount and type of data which can be extracted by those requesting data. Data requests and data responses can be structured according to extensible markup language (XML), and application programming interfaces (API) can be disclosed to enable requesting applications to efficiently call the accessibility service for accessibility data.

EFFECT: broader functionalities of electronic calendaring systems owing to providing data on inoccupation or occupation in real time for potential participants of a meeting or resources.
